We are a class of Year 3 & 4 children at Vardon School in Hamilton, NZ. The purpose of this blog is to share what we are learning with others. Click into our individual blogs to see samples of our learning and our reflections. WE LOVE LEARNING!!! We also love commenting, so please leave us a comment!!!
Today we had our first tennis lesson. We learnt to balance the tennis ball on our racket and use the forehand swimg and hit the ball to our buddy. We played a fun game called "Poke" to finish.
This morning I gave Mrs Natusch a big present. It was a pumpkin! I carved Mrs Natusch's name on the pumpkin. I gave it to her for being a lovely teacher and so she can make pumpkin soup.
Today at assembly room 7 received the class award. We received this award because of the connections we are making with other classes around the world. We are connecting with other NZ classes on twitter (@kidsedchatnz), quadblogging with NZ classes and classes around the world and using skype to connect and make global connections.
This morning we learnt netball skills with Aroha The Waikato Netball officer. We learnt to stop, pivot and defend: Here is a movie about our netball skills.By Thomas.
Today is Wednesday, the day of being wrap free. 13/25 people are wrap free. Our percentage was 52 %.
We have improved on the number of people who are wrap free. In week 1 we had 6 people, week 2 we had 9 people and this week 13 people!
We had a lot of fun taking part in different fun activities.
Here is a video of some of the activities. At the end is the class tug-of-war competitions and the parents verses teachers tug-of-war competition!
After our school tabloids we made a dot plot. We asked everyone in class which was their favourite activity. On our first dot plot we had just the seven activities and found out that parachute was the most favourite activity.
Then we added in the tug-of-war competition to see if it would change the data and it sure did! The tug-of-war was definitely the most popular activity in room 7 at our school tabloids.
The crosses on our graph are the activities we didn't like and would like to change for next year.
